Overview

Ambrox Syrup 100ml contains ambroxol 15mg/5ml, a mucolytic that thins and loosens thick, sticky phlegm so it is easier to cough up. It is used for productive (wet) coughs and congested chests in bronchitis, chest colds and other respiratory conditions where mucus is hard to clear, in both children and adults. By breaking down mucus structure and supporting the airways' natural clearing action, ambroxol turns an exhausting, chesty cough into a more effective one. A household staple for chesty coughs .

Directions for Use

Measure with the cup or spoon provided. Children 2-5 years: 2.5ml two to three times daily. Children 6-12 years: 5ml two to three times daily. Adults and over-12s: 10ml three times daily. Take after meals with some fluid. Drinking plenty of water helps the medicine thin mucus. Use for under-2s only on a doctor's advice. See a doctor if the cough persists beyond a week or is accompanied by high fever.

Use with caution in stomach ulcer disease and in severe kidney or liver impairment. Rarely, serious skin reactions occur. Stop at the first sign of rash or blistering and seek care. Avoid combining with cough suppressants, which trap the loosened mucus. Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy (especially the first trimester) or breastfeeding.
