Galvus 50mg Tablets (28 pack) contain vildagliptin, Novartis's DPP-4 inhibitor for type 2 diabetes. Vildagliptin works intelligently with your body. Boosting the natural incretin hormones that prompt insulin release only when blood sugar rises, so it controls glucose with a low risk of hypos and no weight gain. Prescribed alone when metformin is unsuitable or alongside other diabetes medicines, it is a well-tolerated option that helps people with type 2 diabetes keep HbA1c on target without the fear of frequent sugar crashes.

Vildagliptin 50mg per tablet. Contains lactose.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Commonly one 50mg tablet once or twice daily (morning and evening), with or without food. Take consistently at the same times, and continue diet, exercise and other prescribed diabetes medicines. Do not stop without medical advice, and attend regular HbA1c and liver function reviews.

Liver function should be checked before and during treatment. Report nausea, abdominal pain, dark urine or yellowing eyes promptly. Not recommended in severe liver disease; dose adjustment may apply in kidney impairment. Combined with a sulfonylurea or insulin, hypo risk rises. Know the warning signs (sweating, shaking, hunger). Rarely, severe joint pain or pancreatitis occur. Seek review for persistent severe abdominal pain. Use in pregnancy only on specialist advice. Store below 30°C.
