Overview
Getryl 2mg Tablets (20 pack) contain glimepiride, an oral medicine for type 2 diabetes. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that helps the pancreas release more insulin and improves the body's use of it, lowering blood sugar levels. Taken once daily, it provides 24-hour blood-sugar control and is used when diet, exercise and sometimes metformin are not enough on their own. A widely used, convenient antidiabetic option for patients managing type 2 diabetes under medical care.
Glimepiride 2mg per tablet. Confirm active on product packaging.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily with or just before breakfast (or your first main meal), swallowed whole with water. Do not skip the meal after taking it, as this can cause low blood sugar. Take it at the same time each day, alongside a balanced diet and regular activity, and attend reviews of your blood sugar and HbA1c.
Can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). Know the signs (shakiness, sweating, hunger, confusion) and how to treat it, especially if you miss meals, drink alcohol or exercise more than usual. Use caution with kidney or liver problems and in older adults. Tell your doctor about all other medicines, as many affect blood sugar. May increase sun sensitivity. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice. Confirm active on the pack. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
