Inosita Plus 50/500mg Tablets (28 pack) combine sitagliptin 50mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor, with metformin 500mg, the foundation medicine of type 2 diabetes care, in one convenient tablet. Metformin reduces the liver's sugar output and improves insulin sensitivity, while sitagliptin boosts the body's own incretin hormones to release insulin when blood sugar rises. Each film-coated tablet: sitagliptin (as phosphate) 50mg, metformin hydrochloride 500mg.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one tablet twice daily with meals, which reduces metformin's stomach side effects. Swallow whole with water. Do not skip meals after dosing. Continue your diet, exercise and glucose monitoring routine, and attend regular diabetes and kidney function reviews.

Do not use in significant kidney impairment, severe liver disease, diabetic ketoacidosis or during severe dehydration, serious infection or around contrast X-ray scans. Metformin must often be paused (risk of lactic acidosis; seek urgent care for rapid breathing, severe weakness or unusual muscle pain). Report persistent severe abdominal pain. Sitagliptin rarely causes pancreatitis. Stomach upset and reduced B12 over time can occur with metformin. Alcohol increases risks. Tell your doctor if pregnant or planning pregnancy.
