Linvesta 5mg (linagliptin) is a prescription tablet used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults. It belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor class and works by increasing the levels of natural hormones (incretins) that boost insulin release after meals and reduce excess glucose production by the liver, helping to lower blood sugar. It can be used alone (especially when metformin is unsuitable) or with other diabetes medicines. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Linvesta 5mg is taken once daily, with or without food, at about the same time each day, swallowed with water. This is a prescription medicine for type 2 diabetes. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. On its own it rarely causes low blood sugar, but the risk rises if combined with insulin or a sulfonylurea (your doctor may lower their dose). Stop and seek urgent care for severe, persistent stomach pain (possible pancreatitis). Tell your doctor about a history of pancreatitis. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only if advised.
