Overview

Diclogenta Eye Drops 5ml combine gentamicin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, with diclofenac, an anti-inflammatory. A pairing prescribed after eye surgery and for inflamed, infection-prone eye conditions. Gentamicin clears or prevents bacterial infection while diclofenac calms pain, redness and post-operative inflammation without the pressure-raising effects of steroids in susceptible patients. Used under ophthalmic supervision, Diclogenta supports comfortable healing after cataract and other eye procedures increasingly performed across Kenya.

Diclofenac sodium 0.1% w/v with gentamicin sulphate 0.3% w/v ophthalmic solution. Confirm strengths on product packaging.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your eye specialist. Commonly one drop in the treated eye three to four times daily for the prescribed period. Wash hands first; avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye. Remove contact lenses before use. If using other eye drops, separate them by at least 5 minutes. Complete the prescribed course.

Do not use if allergic to aminoglycoside antibiotics or NSAIDs (aspirin/diclofenac). Mild transient stinging can occur; stop and seek review for worsening pain, discharge, vision changes or significant redness. Not for long-term unsupervised use. Prolonged antibiotic drops breed resistance. Do not wear contact lenses during treatment. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding on medical advice. Discard the bottle 28 days after opening.
