Overview

Framydex Eye Drops 8ml combine dexamethasone, a potent corticosteroid, with framycetin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, for inflamed eye conditions where bacterial infection is present or likely. Such as infective conjunctivitis with significant inflammation, blepharitis and post-operative eye care. The steroid swiftly settles redness, swelling and discomfort while framycetin tackles susceptible bacteria, treating both problems together. A prescription combination drop used in short, supervised courses under the care of a clinician, with prompt review if symptoms do not improve.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. A typical dose is 1-2 drops into the affected eye every 4-6 hours, reducing as inflammation settles. Wash hands first; tilt the head back, pull down the lower lid and instil without touching the eye. Complete the prescribed course and do not extend beyond 7 days without medical review. Remove contact lenses during treatment.

Do not use in viral (herpes simplex), fungal or tuberculous eye infections. Steroids can make these dramatically worse; a doctor must examine the eye first. Prolonged use can raise eye pressure (glaucoma), cause cataract and thin the cornea. Short courses only, with follow-up. Stop and seek review for worsening pain, discharge or any vision change. Not recommended in pregnancy unless clearly needed. Discard 28 days after opening. Store below 25°C.
