Overview
Oflodex Eye/Ear Drops combine the antibiotic ofloxacin with the anti-inflammatory steroid dexamethasone, for use in the eye or ear. They are prescribed for infections with inflammation. Such as bacterial conjunctivitis, certain ear infections (otitis externa) and inflamed, infection-prone eyes or ears. Ofloxacin clears the bacteria while dexamethasone settles the redness, swelling, pain and discharge, so the infection and the inflammation are treated together for faster, more comfortable relief. A versatile, doctor-prescribed option for people with infected, inflamed eyes or ears.
Actives: Ofloxacin 0.3% and Dexamethasone 0.1%. Preservative: benzalkonium chloride. Confirm strengths on packaging.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. For the eye, usually one or two drops into the affected eye several times daily; for the ear, the prescribed number of drops into the affected ear. Wash your hands first, and do not touch the dropper tip to the eye, ear or skin. For ear use, warm the bottle briefly in your hands and lie with the treated ear up for a few minutes after instilling. Complete the full course.
Use in the eye or ear only as your doctor directs. Steroid-containing drops should be used only under medical supervision and not longer than prescribed, as prolonged eye use can raise eye pressure or mask worsening infection. Not for use with a perforated eardrum unless a doctor specifically advises. Vision may blur briefly after eye use. Wait before driving. Discard 28 days after opening; do not share. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
