Overview

Fluroton Ophthalmic Suspension 5ml contains fluorometholone, a gentle corticosteroid eye drop used to calm inflammatory eye conditions. Allergic conjunctivitis flare-ups, post-operative inflammation and other steroid-responsive surface inflammation. With a lower tendency to raise eye pressure than stronger steroids, under the direction of an eye clinician.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake well before each use. Instil the prescribed drops (typically one drop 2-4 times daily) into the affected eye for the course prescribed, tapering as directed rather than stopping abruptly from intensive regimens. Wash hands, avoid touching the tip to the eye, and press the inner corner after instilling. Remove contact lenses before use. Discard 4 weeks after opening.

Steroid eye drops must be supervised. Prolonged use can raise eye pressure, promote cataracts and mask infections; pressure checks apply to longer courses. Do not use with untreated bacterial, viral (herpes) or fungal eye infections. Report eye pain, worsening redness or vision changes promptly. Confirm the strength on the packaging.
