Overview

Hydrocortisone Eye Drops 5ml contain hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid, for short-term treatment of eye inflammation. Easing the redness, swelling and irritation of allergic and other non-infected inflammatory eye conditions, under the direction of an eye clinician. The gentle steroid action calms surface inflammation when artificial tears or antihistamine drops aren't enough.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Instil the prescribed drops into the affected eye(s) at the frequency your eye doctor sets, completing the short course as directed. Wash hands first, avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye, press the inner corner after instilling, and remove contact lenses before use. Discard within the period stated after opening.

Steroid eye drops require supervision. Even mild steroids, used without proper assessment, can worsen undiagnosed eye infections (especially herpes) and, with prolonged use, raise eye pressure. Do not use with untreated eye infections. Use only for the short course prescribed, and report eye pain, worsening redness or vision change promptly. Do not share the bottle.
