Pilocarpine 2% Eye Drops (5ml) contain pilocarpine, a medicine that lowers the pressure inside the eye. Pilocarpine makes the pupil smaller and improves the drainage of fluid from the eye, which lowers raised eye pressure in glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Helping to protect the optic nerve and preserve sight. It is also used in some acute glaucoma emergencies and before or after certain eye procedures. By keeping eye pressure under control, it helps prevent the gradual vision loss that untreated glaucoma can cause. A doctor-prescribed eye drop helping people manage glaucoma and protect their eyesight.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Commonly one drop into the affected eye(s) several times a day (often up to four times), at evenly spaced times. Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower lid and instil the drop without touching the dropper tip to the eye, then press the inner corner of the eye for a minute. Use it regularly and at the right times, as steady pressure control protects your sight. Do not stop without advice.

Pilocarpine can make vision dim, especially in low light, and may cause brow ache or blurred near vision, particularly at first. Take care driving or moving about at night. Remove contact lenses before use. Use other eye drops at least 5 minutes apart. See your eye doctor for eye pain, marked redness or sudden vision change. Attend regular eye-pressure checks.
