Overview

Pan 40mg Tablets (30 pack) contain pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that strongly reduces stomach acid. By switching off the acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining, pantoprazole relieves heartburn and acid reflux, heals inflammation of the food pipe (oesophagitis), and helps treat and prevent stomach and duodenal ulcers. Including those linked to anti-inflammatory painkillers or H. pylori infection. The 40mg gastro-resistant tablet gives lasting daily acid control. A widely trusted option for people troubled by persistent acidity, reflux or ulcers.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, in the morning about 30-60 minutes before breakfast. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew, as the special coating protects the medicine from stomach acid. Take it regularly for the full course prescribed, even once symptoms ease. If part of an H. pylori 'triple therapy', take it together with the prescribed antibiotics.

Tell your doctor if heartburn is accompanied by weight loss, difficulty swallowing, vomiting or black stools, as these need investigation. Long-term use may affect magnesium, vitamin B12 and bone health, and can slightly raise the risk of certain gut infections. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed. Tell your doctor about other medicines, as pantoprazole can affect some (e.g. certain HIV and blood-thinning drugs). Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 30°C.
