Peglec Sachet 137.15g is a polyethylene glycol (PEG) bowel-cleansing preparation with balanced electrolytes, used to completely empty the bowel before colonoscopy, bowel surgery or barium X-ray studies. Dissolved in water and drunk over a few hours, the PEG solution flushes the colon clean without significantly disturbing the body's fluid and salt balance. Giving the clear views doctors need for an accurate examination. Used exactly as your endoscopy team directs, Peglec is a standard, effective bowel prep for patients preparing for colon procedures.

Polyethylene glycol 3350 with sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, potassium chloride and sodium sulphate per sachet. Quantities listed on product packaging.

Directions for Use

This preparation should be used exactly as directed by your doctor or endoscopy unit. Dissolve the full sachet in 2 litres of clean drinking water, mixing well. Drink 250ml every 10-15 minutes until finished or bowel output runs clear, usually starting the evening before or the morning of the procedure as instructed. Expect frequent watery stools within 1-2 hours. Follow the clear-fluid and fasting instructions given with your appointment.

Do not use in bowel obstruction or perforation, severe inflammatory bowel disease (toxic colitis/megacolon), gastric retention or ileus. Your doctor screens for these. Tell your team about heart or kidney disease, swallowing difficulties, diabetes and all medicines. Oral medicines taken within an hour of the solution may not absorb. Stay near a toilet; mild bloating, cramps and nausea are common. Seek help for severe pain, vomiting preventing intake, or dizziness.
