Overview

Bispanol Elixir is an oral antispasmodic medicine containing hyoscine N-butylbromide (5mg per 5ml). It relaxes the muscle of the stomach, gut and other internal organs to relieve cramping pain and spasm. It is used for abdominal cramps and colic, painful periods (dysmenorrhoea), and as an adjunct in conditions such as irritable bowel and peptic ulcer disease, and can also help with motion sickness and post-operative nausea. The easy-to-take elixir offers gentle relief from spasmodic tummy pain for adults and children as directed.

Hyoscine N-butylbromide BP 5mg per 5ml.

Directions for Use

Take by mouth as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. A common adult dose is 10-20mg (10-20ml) up to three times a day; doses for children should follow medical advice or the packaging. Measure with a proper medicine spoon or cup. It can be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Not suitable if you have an enlarged prostate, angle-closure glaucoma, or myasthenia gravis. Use with caution in heart conditions and if you have difficulty passing urine. It may cause dry mouth, blurred vision or constipation. It can interact with tricyclic antidepressants and certain other medicines, so tell your pharmacist what else you take.
