Overview

Albasol Suspension is an oral anthelmintic (deworming) medicine containing albendazole, used to treat intestinal worm infections. It works against common worms such as roundworm, hookworm, threadworm (pinworm), whipworm and tapeworm by stopping the worms absorbing the nutrients they need, so they die and are cleared from the body. The easy-to-take 10ml suspension is convenient for both children and adults. Regular deworming is an important part of routine family health care, especially where worm infections are common. Confirm the strength and dose against the packaging before use.

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle well before use. The usual deworming treatment is a single dose taken by mouth, with the exact amount based on age and the type of worm. Follow the dosing on the packaging or your pharmacist's advice. It can be taken with or without food. For some infections a repeat dose after 1-2 weeks, or a longer course, may be advised. Treating the whole family is often recommended for threadworm.

Not recommended during pregnancy, especially the first trimester. Tell your healthcare provider if you are or may be pregnant. Use with caution while breastfeeding and in very young children unless advised. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems. Side effects are usually mild and may include stomach upset or headache.
