Overview

Zentel Suspension is a deworming medicine containing albendazole, used to treat common intestinal worm infections such as roundworm, hookworm, threadworm (pinworm), whipworm and tapeworm. Intestinal worms are a frequent health concern, especially in children, and can cause tummy pain, poor appetite, tiredness and disturbed sleep. Albendazole works by stopping the worms absorbing the nutrients they need, so they die and are cleared from the body. The easy-to-take liquid form makes Zentel a convenient choice for treating and helping prevent worm infections in children and adults, supporting the whole family's gut health.

Active ingredient: Albendazole (commonly 400 mg per 10 ml suspension).

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle well before use. For most common worm infections, a single dose is taken by mouth. The usual adult and child (over 2 years) dose is 20 ml (400 mg of albendazole), measured with the cup or spoon provided. It can be taken at any time, with or without food. For threadworm, it is often advised to treat all household members at the same time and to repeat the dose after 2 weeks if needed. For certain infections a longer course may be prescribed. Follow your doctor's or pharmacist's advice.

Do not use if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant; use reliable contraception during treatment and seek advice if pregnancy is possible. Not generally recommended for children under 1 year except on medical advice. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems. Alongside treatment, good hygiene. Handwashing, short clean nails and washing bedding. Helps prevent reinfection, especially with threadworm. May occasionally cause mild stomach upset or headache. Store below 30C.
