Emitino Syrup 30ml provides ondansetron 2mg/5ml in a child-friendly liquid for preventing and treating nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Ondansetron blocks the serotonin signals that fire the vomiting reflex, settling the stomach quickly so children and adults who cannot manage tablets can keep food, fluids and other medicines down. Precise dosing with the measuring device makes it practical for weight-based paediatric prescriptions in hospitals and homes.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Paediatric doses are calculated by body weight or surface area, and adult doses typically follow a pre-treatment dose with repeat doses for up to 5 days. Measure with the cup or syringe provided. May be taken with or without food. If a dose is vomited back within an hour, consult your care team before repeating.

Do not use with apomorphine. Caution with heart rhythm problems and electrolyte imbalance (QT prolongation), liver impairment and bowel obstruction. Constipation and headache are the most common effects. Not routinely recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use only on medical advice. Watch for serotonin syndrome symptoms (agitation, sweating, tremor) when combined with antidepressants. Store below 30°C; do not freeze.
