Overview
Ezechol 10mg (ezetimibe) is a prescription cholesterol-lowering medicine. It works in the gut to reduce the amount of cholesterol absorbed from food, helping to lower LDL ('bad') cholesterol and total cholesterol. It is used either on its own when statins are not suitable, or together with a statin for added cholesterol lowering, to help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Taken once daily, Ezechol supports long-term cholesterol management for adults alongside a healthy diet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Ezechol 10mg is usually taken once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food, swallowed with water. If you also take a bile-acid medicine (e.g. cholestyramine), take ezetimibe at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after it. Continue alongside a healthy diet, and do not stop without advice.
This is a prescription medicine. Tell your doctor about liver problems, especially if you also take a statin (the combination is generally avoided in active liver disease). Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, particularly if taken with a statin. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only if advised. Tell your doctor about other medicines. Your doctor may check cholesterol and, if combined with a statin, liver function. Store in a cool, dry place. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice.
