Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one tablet once daily, preferably in the morning (the diuretic increases urination), with or without food. Keep taking it even when you feel well. Hypertension is silent. Attend regular blood pressure and kidney/electrolyte reviews.

Do not use during pregnancy. Losartan can harm an unborn baby; report pregnancy immediately. Not for severe kidney or liver impairment, or anuria. May cause dizziness. Rise slowly and stay hydrated, especially in hot weather or with diarrhoea. The diuretic can raise uric acid (gout) and blood sugar and lower potassium. Periodic blood tests are advised. Avoid NSAID painkillers where possible. Tell your doctor about diabetes and all medicines including lithium. Store below 30°C.
