Metoz 2.5mg Tablets (30 pack) contain metolazone, a thiazide-like 'water tablet' (diuretic) that helps the body clear excess fluid and lower blood pressure. Metolazone increases the removal of salt and water through the kidneys, easing the fluid build-up (oedema) seen in heart failure and some kidney and liver conditions, and helping to control high blood pressure. It is notably effective even when kidney function is reduced and is sometimes added to another diuretic for a stronger effect. The 2.5mg strength is a common starting dose. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually once daily in the morning (it increases urination), swallowed with water, with or without food. When it is added to another water tablet the combined effect can be strong, so follow your doctor's instructions and monitoring closely. Keep taking it as prescribed, and attend the regular blood tests your doctor arranges to check kidney function and salts.

Can lower potassium, sodium and other salts and cause dehydration. Tell your doctor about muscle cramps, marked weakness, dizziness or a very dry mouth, and attend blood checks. May cause dizziness on standing (rise slowly). Can affect blood sugar and uric acid. Caution with diabetes and gout. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems and other blood-pressure or potassium medicines. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice. Store below 30°C.
