Amoxil Forte 250mg/5ml Syrup (100ml) is GSK's double-strength amoxicillin suspension for children who need a higher antibiotic dose in a smaller, easier volume. Amoxicillin is the trusted first-line penicillin antibiotic for childhood chest infections, ear infections (otitis media), throat infections and urinary infections. The Forte strength suits older or heavier children, halving the volume per dose compared with the 125mg strength. Fewer struggles at medicine time, same dependable infection clearance families know from the Amoxil name.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by a doctor. Dosing is by the child's weight, commonly three times daily (every 8 hours) for 5-7 days. Shake the reconstituted bottle well and measure with the spoon or syringe provided. Give with or without food. Complete the full course even when the child improves. Use the suspension within the period stated on the label after mixing, usually 7-14 days refrigerated.

Do not use with known penicillin allergy. Stop immediately and seek urgent care for rash with swelling or breathing difficulty. Mild diarrhoea and nausea are common; persistent watery diarrhoea needs review. Tell your doctor about kidney problems or glandular fever (rash risk). Antibiotic overuse breeds resistance. Use only when a clinician prescribes it. Store the dry powder below 25°C; refrigerate after reconstitution as directed.
