Overview

Augmentin 625mg Tablets (14 pack) from GSK contain co-amoxiclav. Amoxicillin 500mg with clavulanic acid 125mg. The clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from destruction by bacterial enzymes, restoring its power against resistant bacteria. Augmentin 625mg is one of the most widely prescribed antibiotics for respiratory infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), ear infections, urinary tract infections, dental infections and skin or soft-tissue infections. The 14-tablet pack matches the standard 7-day adult course, prescribed and dispensed against a doctor's prescription as part of responsible antibiotic use.

Each tablet: amoxicillin (as trihydrate) 500mg, clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate) 125mg.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual adult dose is one 625mg tablet every 8 or 12 hours, as prescribed. Take at the start of a meal to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water, spacing doses evenly through the day. Complete the full prescribed course even if you feel better early. Stopping early risks relapse and antibiotic resistance.

Do not use if allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins, or if you have previously had liver problems (jaundice) with co-amoxiclav. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver disease, glandular fever, and all other medicines. Including allopurinol and blood thinners. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea and thrush; seek urgent help for severe rash, facial swelling, breathing difficulty or persistent watery/bloody diarrhoea. May reduce effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Use extra precautions during the course. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Store below 25°C in a dry place.
