Aurozil 125mg/5ml Suspension (cefprozil) is a prescription antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections, including those of the throat and tonsils, ears, sinuses, skin and chest (such as bronchitis). It belongs to the cephalosporin class and works by killing the bacteria causing the infection. Supplied as a 60ml banana/fruit-flavoured oral suspension, this paediatric-friendly strength is commonly used for children , with the dose based on the child's weight and the type of infection.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before each dose and measure with the provided syringe or measuring cup. It is usually given once or twice daily; complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Can be taken with or without food; giving with food may reduce stomach upset.
This is a prescription antibiotic. Tell your doctor if your child is allergic to cefprozil, other cephalosporins or penicillins. Complete the full course to prevent the infection returning or resistance developing. May cause diarrhoea, nausea or rash; seek urgent advice for severe or bloody diarrhoea, or signs of a serious allergic reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing). Tell your doctor about kidney problems or other medicines. Refrigeration is preferable once reconstituted; discard after the period stated on the pack.
