Ceflorex Dry Syrup 100mg/5ml (70ml) contains cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic in a child-friendly suspension from Pharmaken. It is prescribed for bacterial infections including middle-ear infections, throat and tonsil infections, bronchitis and pneumonia, urinary tract infections and typhoid fever. Common childhood illnesses that need reliable oral antibiotic cover. Cefixime's once or twice-daily dosing and broad activity make it a practical choice when a doctor confirms a bacterial cause.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. The dose is calculated by the child's weight (commonly 8mg/kg daily, once daily or split into two doses). To prepare, add cooled boiled water to the powder up to the mark and shake well; shake before every dose and measure with the cup or syringe provided. Complete the full course. Store the mixed suspension as directed on the label and discard after the stated period.

Do not use with known cephalosporin allergy, and use cautiously with penicillin allergy. Cross-reaction is possible; stop and seek urgent care for rash, swelling or breathing difficulty. Diarrhoea is common; persistent watery or bloody diarrhoea needs review. Adjust dosing in kidney impairment. Antibiotics treat bacteria only. Not colds or flu; unnecessary use breeds resistance.
