Overview

Drez V Gel is a vaginal antiseptic/antibacterial gel containing povidone-iodine and metronidazole, used to treat vaginal infections such as bacterial vaginosis and mixed vaginal infections, and to relieve associated discharge, odour and irritation. Povidone-iodine kills a broad range of bacteria, fungi and other microbes, while metronidazole targets the bacteria and protozoa commonly involved in vaginal infections. This 30g gel is used intravaginally by women under a doctor's guidance.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Drez V Gel is usually inserted into the vagina (often using the applicator provided) once or twice daily for the number of days advised, ideally at night before bed. Wash your hands before and after use. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve, and avoid use during menstruation unless advised.

For vaginal use only. Not suitable for people with iodine sensitivity or certain thyroid conditions. Check with a doctor. Avoid alcohol during and shortly after treatment (the metronidazole component can cause a reaction with alcohol). May reduce the effectiveness of latex condoms/diaphragms during use. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek advice if symptoms persist, worsen, or you develop fever or pelvic pain. Store in a cool, dry place.
