Overview

Zoflox Tablets (10 pack) contain ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections. Ofloxacin tackles the bacteria behind urinary-tract infections, certain chest and respiratory infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, and some gut and gynaecological infections. By stopping the bacteria multiplying, it clears the infection and relieves the associated symptoms. Some Zoflox presentations pair ofloxacin with an anti-protozoal for mixed infections. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once or twice daily for the number of days prescribed, swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Complete the full course even if you feel better, to clear the infection fully and reduce resistance. Avoid taking it at the same time as milk, antacids, or iron or zinc supplements, which reduce its absorption. Separate them by a few hours.

Fluoroquinolones like ofloxacin can rarely cause tendon pain or rupture, nerve effects and changes in blood sugar or mood. Stop and seek advice for tendon pain, pins and needles, palpitations or marked mood change. Avoid excess sun. Caution with epilepsy, kidney problems, myasthenia gravis and medicines that affect heart rhythm. Not generally for children or in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless a doctor directs.
