Ozitas 5mg Tablets (30 pack) contain olanzapine, an atypical (second-generation) antipsychotic medicine. It is used to treat schizophrenia and the manic episodes of bipolar disorder, and to help prevent these mood episodes returning. Olanzapine works by helping to balance natural chemicals (dopamine and serotonin) in the brain, which can improve thinking, mood and behaviour and reduce symptoms such as hallucinations, agitation and severe mood swings. It is taken regularly as part of a treatment plan supervised by a doctor. A doctor-prescribed medicine supporting mental-health care for patients. Confirm the active on the pack.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Swallow the tablet with water once daily, with or without food, at about the same time each day. Keep taking it regularly even when you feel better, as stopping suddenly can cause symptoms to return; any change should be made gradually under your doctor's guidance.

May cause drowsiness, dizziness and weight gain, and can raise blood sugar and cholesterol. Your doctor will monitor these. Take care driving until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol. It is NOT for treating behavioural problems in elderly people with dementia (increased risk of stroke/death). Report fever with stiffness, confusion, marked restlessness, or thoughts of self-harm.
