Overview

Vildaril 50mg Tablets contain vildagliptin 50mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor for type 2 diabetes. Vildagliptin boosts the body's own incretin hormones so that insulin is released when blood glucose rises and excess glucagon is suppressed. Delivering smoother glucose control with a low risk of hypoglycaemia and a weight-neutral profile, used alone or with other diabetes medicines.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take as prescribed. Typically 50mg once or twice daily, with or without food. When taken once daily it is usually taken in the morning. Continue diet and exercise measures and monitor blood sugar as advised. Do not adjust the dose yourself.

Not for type 1 diabetes or ketoacidosis. Stop and seek care for severe persistent abdominal pain radiating to the back (possible pancreatitis). Liver function is monitored periodically. Report symptoms of liver trouble (yellowing, dark urine, persistent nausea, fatigue). Report severe joint pain or blistering skin reactions. Hypoglycaemia risk rises when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin. Tell your doctor about all medicines and any liver problems.
