Overview

Tess Buccal Paste 0.1% (5g) contains triamcinolone acetonide, a corticosteroid in a special adhesive oral paste that clings to the moist lining of the mouth. It treats painful mouth ulcers (aphthous ulcers), denture irritation and inflammatory mouth lesions. Forming a protective film over the sore while the steroid calms inflammation, easing pain quickly and helping ulcers heal. For people plagued by recurrent mouth ulcers that make eating and talking painful, Tess offers targeted relief right where it hurts, used in short courses as directed.

Triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% w/w in an adhesive buccal paste base.

Directions for Use

Apply after meals and at bedtime, up to two to three times daily. Dry the ulcer gently with a clean tissue, then dab. Do not rub. A small amount (about the size of a match head) onto the sore until a thin film forms. Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes afterwards. Use for up to 5-7 days; see a doctor or dentist if the ulcer has not healed within 7-10 days.

For use inside the mouth only. Do not use on infected lesions (cold sores, oral thrush, bacterial infection). Steroids can worsen infections. Any mouth ulcer lasting more than 2-3 weeks must be examined by a dentist or doctor to rule out serious causes. Avoid prolonged or frequent courses. Use in children, pregnancy or breastfeeding on professional advice. Store below 30°C with the cap tightly closed.
