Quadrajel Gel contains Lidocaine Topical (2%w/w) + Chlorhexidine Gluconate (1%w/w) + Metronidazole Topical (1%w/w used in the treatment of mouth sores. Lidocaine Topical is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases pain sensation. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic which binds to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, tartar and other mouth infections. Metronidazole Topical is an antibiotic which kills the bacteria and other microorganisms by damaging the DNA.
Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
