Overview
Terpynta 100 ER Tablets (10 pack) contain tapentadol in an extended-release (ER) form. A strong opioid painkiller. It is used for the management of moderate-to-severe persistent (around-the-clock) pain that has not been adequately controlled by other painkillers, such as severe ongoing pain from injury, surgery or certain long-term conditions. Tapentadol works on the central nervous system to change how the body feels and responds to pain. As a controlled opioid medicine, it is prescribed and supervised closely by a doctor. A doctor-supervised pain treatment for patients with severe persistent pain. Confirm the active on the pack.
Active: Tapentadol 100mg (extended-release) per tablet. An opioid analgesic (controlled medicine).
Directions for Use
This is a prescription controlled medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs and the severity of your pain. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. The extended-release tablets are swallowed whole with water (not crushed, broken or chewed), usually twice a day at regular times for around-the-clock pain, not on an as-needed basis. Do not stop suddenly after regular use, as this can cause withdrawal; your doctor will reduce it gradually.
A strong opioid with a risk of dependence, misuse and, in overdose, dangerously slowed breathing. Take exactly as prescribed and never share it. Causes drowsiness and dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you, and do NOT drink alcohol or take other sedatives. Commonly causes constipation, nausea and sleepiness. Tell your doctor about breathing problems, head injury, liver/kidney disease, or a history of substance misuse, and about all other medicines (especially other sedatives and antidepressants).
