Overview

Capsifenac Gel 20g is a four-action topical pain gel combining diclofenac, a proven anti-inflammatory, with capsaicin from chilli peppers, menthol and methyl salicylate. Diclofenac calms inflammation at its source, capsaicin warms and desensitises overactive pain nerves, menthol cools and enhances penetration, and methyl salicylate adds counter-irritant relief. Together easing arthritis, back pain, neck and shoulder tension, sprains, strains and sports injuries. The non-greasy gel absorbs fast, making it a popular pick at pharmacies for everyday muscle and joint pain.

Diclofenac diethylamine 1.16% w/w, capsaicin 0.025% w/w, with menthol and methyl salicylate in a gel base.

Directions for Use

Apply a thin layer of gel to the painful area and massage in gently until absorbed, three to four times daily. Wash hands thoroughly after each application (capsaicin stings eyes and broken skin). A warm tingling or mild burning at the site is normal and settles with regular use. Do not bandage tightly over the gel. Seek review if pain persists beyond 7 days.

For external use only. Never apply to broken, irritated or eczematous skin, eyes, mouth or genitals; capsaicin causes intense burning on sensitive tissue. Do not use if allergic to NSAIDs, aspirin or salicylates, or in children without medical advice. Avoid hot showers immediately after application. Heat intensifies the burning sensation. Use cautiously with oral NSAIDs and blood thinners. Stop if rash or severe irritation develops. Avoid in pregnancy unless advised. Store below 30°C.
