Overview

Diprogenta Cream 15g combines the potent anti-inflammatory steroid betamethasone dipropionate with the antibiotic gentamicin, treating inflamed skin conditions complicated by bacterial infection. It is prescribed for infected eczema and dermatitis. Where scratching has let bacteria in. Calming redness, swelling and itch while gentamicin clears susceptible germs. This dual action settles angry, oozing, infected flare-ups faster than a steroid alone, making it a valuable short-course prescription treatment for the infected itchy rashes commonly seen in clinics.

Betamethasone (as dipropionate) 0.05% w/w with gentamicin (as sulphate) 0.1% w/w cream.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor. Apply a thin film to the affected area twice daily, gently rubbing in, for the course your doctor sets. Usually no more than 1-2 weeks. Do not use on large areas or under occlusive dressings unless instructed. Wash hands after application and complete the prescribed course.

Do not use on viral (herpes, chickenpox), fungal or tuberculous skin lesions, on acne, or on the face except on specific advice. Prolonged use risks skin thinning, antibiotic resistance and sensitisation to gentamicin. Avoid in the ear canal if the eardrum may be perforated. Stop and seek review if irritation or worsening occurs. Use in pregnancy, breastfeeding and children only on medical advice. Store below 25°C.
