Overview

Momate Ointment contains mometasone furoate 0.1%, a potent topical corticosteroid (an anti-inflammatory steroid for the skin). It is used to relieve the redness, itching, swelling and discomfort of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema (dermatitis) and psoriasis. The rich, moisturising ointment base is especially suited to dry, thickened or scaly patches of skin. Momate calms the overactive skin inflammation behind these conditions, helping to soothe irritated, flaky skin. It is for external use on the skin only and is intended for short courses under medical guidance.

Directions for Use

Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Apply a thin film of Momate Ointment to the affected area of clean, dry skin once daily, gently rubbing in until absorbed. Wash your hands afterwards, unless the hands are the area being treated. Do not cover the area with airtight dressings unless your doctor advises. Use for the shortest time needed, and avoid the face unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not use on broken or infected skin, or on large areas for long periods, unless directed. Potent steroids should not be used on the face, underarms or groin unless your doctor advises, and are used with caution in children. Prolonged use can thin the skin. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Stop and seek advice if the skin becomes more irritated. Store below 25°C.
