Overview

Linotar 1% Gel is a coal tar-based topical treatment used to relieve the symptoms of psoriasis, eczema and other scaly, itchy skin conditions. Coal tar helps slow the excessive build-up of skin cells, ease itching and reduce scaling and inflammation. The gel formulation is designed to be less messy than traditional coal tar preparations, making it practical for everyday use on affected areas of skin and scalp.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Apply a thin layer to the affected areas of clean, dry skin once or twice daily, or as advised. Rub in gently and wash your hands afterwards (unless treating the hands). Avoid healthy surrounding skin, and follow your prescriber's guidance on how long to use it.

For external use only. Do not apply to broken, infected, blistered or weeping skin, or near the eyes, mouth or genitals. Coal tar can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid strong sun and sunbeds on treated areas. May stain skin, hair, clothing and bedding. Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor. Stop use if irritation worsens.
