Overview

Bactafuz Cream 15g contains fusidic acid, a topical antibiotic for bacterial skin infections. Impetigo, infected cuts, grazes, insect bites and infected eczema or dermatitis, particularly those caused by staph bacteria. Applied directly to the infected area, fusidic acid clears the infection at its source, calming redness, weeping and crusting.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Apply a thin layer to the affected area, typically three to four times daily (or as directed) for the short course prescribed. Usually around 7 days. Clean the area gently first. Complete the prescribed course even as the skin improves; do not use for longer than directed, to limit resistance. Wash hands after applying unless treating them.

For external use only. Avoid the eyes (a specific eye preparation exists for eye infections). Use only for the prescribed course and infection. Overuse of topical antibiotics encourages resistance. See a doctor if the infection is spreading, worsening, feverish, or not improving within the expected time, as oral antibiotics may be needed. Discontinue if irritation or allergy develops.
