Overview

Irovel 150mg Tablets (30 pack) contain irbesartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) from Sun Pharma for high blood pressure and the protection of kidneys in type 2 diabetes. Irbesartan blocks angiotensin II, relaxing blood vessels for smooth, 24-hour blood pressure control, and is specifically proven to slow diabetic kidney disease. A major concern for Kenya's growing diabetic population. Once-daily, generally well tolerated and cough-free (unlike ACE inhibitors), it is a dependable cornerstone of hypertension care.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one 150mg tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Doses may be increased to 300mg if needed. Do not skip doses; hypertension is symptomless but damaging. Keep up blood pressure checks, kidney function tests and lifestyle measures.

Do not use in pregnancy. ARBs can seriously harm an unborn baby; tell your doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs, or while breastfeeding. Caution with kidney artery narrowing, dehydration and high potassium; avoid potassium supplements and salt substitutes unless advised. Do not combine with ACE inhibitors or aliskiren. Dizziness can occur at the start. Rise slowly. Regular NSAID use can blunt its effect and strain kidneys. Store below 30°C.
