Lipitor 20mg Tablets contain atorvastatin, one of the most widely used statin medicines for lowering cholesterol. It reduces 'bad' LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while supporting 'good' HDL cholesterol, helping to keep arteries clear. By improving cholesterol levels, Lipitor lowers the long-term risk of heart attacks, strokes and other heart and blood-vessel problems, which is especially valuable for people with diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of heart disease. Lipitor is prescribed for adults as part of a long-term plan that also includes a healthy, low-fat diet and regular activity.

Active ingredient: Atorvastatin (as calcium) 20 mg per tablet.

Directions for Use

This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once a day, at any time of day but at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow it whole with water. Continue taking it even when you feel well, as high cholesterol usually has no symptoms; it works best alongside a healthy diet and exercise. Do not stop without medical advice. Your doctor may check your cholesterol and liver from time to time.

Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice, which can raise drug levels. Tell your doctor straight away about unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, as statins can rarely affect the muscles. Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, an underactive thyroid, or drink a lot of alcohol, and mention all other medicines, as some interact. Do not use if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Limit alcohol. Store below 30C in a dry place.
