Overview
Maxitrol Eye Ointment (3.5g) from Alcon combines two antibiotics. Neomycin and polymyxin B. With the anti-inflammatory steroid dexamethasone in a sterile eye ointment. It is prescribed for eye inflammation accompanied by, or at risk of, bacterial infection, such as certain types of conjunctivitis, blepharitis and post-surgery care. The antibiotics tackle susceptible bacteria while dexamethasone calms redness, swelling and irritation. The ointment base gives longer contact and overnight soothing, making Maxitrol a trusted choice for inflamed, infection-prone eyes under a doctor's care .
Actives: Neomycin sulfate (3,500 IU/g), Polymyxin B sulfate (6,000 IU/g) and Dexamethasone 0.1% per gram. Ointment base includes white soft paraffin and liquid paraffin.
