Zithromax Suspension 200mg/5ml (15ml) from Pfizer contains azithromycin, the original branded macrolide antibiotic in a pleasant-tasting paediatric oral suspension. It is prescribed for common childhood bacterial infections, including chest infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), throat and tonsil infections, middle-ear infections and certain skin infections. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before each dose. The dose is calculated from your child's weight. Commonly 10mg/kg once daily for 3 days. Measured with the device provided. Give at the same time each day, with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course even if your child improves quickly. Discard remaining suspension after the period stated on the label once reconstituted.

Do not use if your child is allergic to azithromycin, erythromycin or other macrolide antibiotics. Tell the doctor about any liver or kidney problems, heart rhythm disorders or other medicines. Give antacids at least 2 hours apart from azithromycin. Side effects can include diarrhoea, stomach upset or rash; seek urgent care for severe rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty. Use antibiotics only as prescribed to help prevent resistance. Store below 30°C; once reconstituted, follow the label's storage and discard instructions.
