Overview

ASP 81mg Tablets (100 pack) contain aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) in a low dose used as an antiplatelet. A "blood thinner." At this low dose, aspirin helps stop platelets clumping together, reducing the risk of harmful clots, and is widely used to lower the risk of heart attack and stroke in people at high cardiovascular risk or who have had a previous event. Directions for Use

This is a medicine to be used on a doctor's advice. Take only as directed. Usually one 81mg tablet once daily, with or after food to reduce stomach irritation, swallowed with water (swallow whole, or use the dispersible/chewable form as directed). Take it at the same time each day, and keep taking it long-term as advised; do not stop without medical advice, especially after a heart or stroke event.

Because it reduces clotting, it can increase bruising and bleeding. Report black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, or prolonged bleeding. Take with food to protect the stomach, and tell your doctor about stomach ulcers, asthma, kidney problems, or other blood thinners and NSAID painkillers. Do NOT give aspirin to children or teenagers (risk of Reye's syndrome) unless a doctor directs. Tell any doctor or dentist you take it before procedures.
