Brufen Paediatric Suspension 100mg/5ml from Abbott contains ibuprofen, a trusted anti-inflammatory pain and fever reliever formulated for children. The pleasant-tasting suspension reduces fever. Including fever after immunisations, and relieves everyday childhood pain such as headaches, earache, sore throats, toothache and minor sprains. As an anti-inflammatory, ibuprofen also helps settle the swelling that accompanies many childhood complaints. With clear weight-based dosing, Brufen gives parents a dependable option for bringing a feverish, uncomfortable child quick relief (100ml bottle).

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle well before each dose. Give with or after food or milk to protect the stomach, using the measuring device provided. Dosing is by weight/age. Commonly 5-10mg per kg per dose, three times a day; follow the packaging table or your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions, and never exceed three doses in 24 hours. Not for infants under 3 months (or under 5-6kg) unless a doctor advises. If fever or pain persists beyond 3 days, see a doctor.

Do not give to children with asthma that worsens with NSAIDs, stomach ulcers, significant kidney problems, dehydration (e.g., from vomiting and diarrhoea) or chickenpox, unless a doctor advises. Do not combine with other ibuprofen- or aspirin-containing medicines. Give with food; stop and seek help if the child vomits blood, passes black stools or develops a rash with swelling. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time. Store below 30°C; use within the period stated after opening.
