Overview

The Frog Splint (Medium) is a frog-shaped aluminium finger splint that immobilises the fingertip and end joint. The standard support for mallet finger, fingertip fractures, tendon strains and painful end-joint injuries. The padded, mouldable design cradles the finger securely in the protective position while injured structures heal, in a medium size for average adult fingers.

Directions for Use

Apply as directed by your clinician: position the splint to hold the fingertip joint straight (or as instructed), mould gently for a snug fit and secure with tape. Wear continuously for the period advised. For mallet finger, removing the splint and letting the tip droop restarts the healing clock. Keep the finger dry; support it straight during cleaning if removal is permitted.

Finger injuries with deformity, inability to straighten the tip, severe swelling or open wounds should be medically assessed and usually X-rayed before splinting. Do not tape so tightly that circulation suffers. Loosen if the fingertip becomes pale, blue, numb or throbbing. Follow your clinician's wear schedule strictly and attend review; inadequate splinting of mallet finger causes permanent droop.
