Clean the affected area before applying the sterile gauze. Carefully remove the packaging to maintain sterility. Place the sterile gauze directly on the wound or incision. Secure the gauze in place with adhesive tape or a bandage. Change the gauze regularly as instructed by your healthcare provider.
