Overview

Albasol 200mg is an anti-worm (anthelmintic) tablet containing albendazole. It treats common intestinal worm infections such as roundworm, threadworm (pinworm), hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm. Regular deworming supports children's growth, nutrition and concentration and is important for families . Albasol works by stopping worms absorbing sugar, so they lose energy and die and are cleared naturally from the body. Supplied in a convenient 2-tablet pack for a short treatment course.

Active ingredient: Albendazole 200mg per tablet.

Directions for Use

Albasol can be taken by adults and children over two years. Tablets may be chewed, swallowed or crushed, ideally with food. A fatty meal aids absorption for some infections. For threadworm a single dose is often enough, sometimes repeated after two weeks to prevent re-infection. Treating the whole household at the same time is often advised. Follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.

Avoid during pregnancy, especially the first trimester, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Use caution while breastfeeding and in liver disease. May rarely cause stomach upset, headache or dizziness. Not recommended for children under two years unless prescribed. Good hand and food hygiene helps prevent re-infection.
