Overview

Olmiday 40 AM is a prescription combination medicine for high blood pressure (hypertension), containing olmesartan and amlodipine. Olmesartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker) relaxes blood vessels by blocking a hormone that narrows them, while amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) further relaxes and widens the blood vessels. Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than one medicine alone, helping adults control hypertension and reduce the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Olmiday 40 AM is usually taken once daily, at about the same time each day, with or without food, swallowed with water. Take it regularly even when you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Do not change the dose or stop without medical advice.

This is a prescription medicine. May cause dizziness, especially when standing up quickly or at the start of treatment. Rise slowly. Ankle swelling, flushing and headache can occur. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems, or persistent severe diarrhoea (rarely linked to olmesartan). Should be avoided in pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you are or may become pregnant. Tell your doctor about other blood pressure medicines, potassium supplements or anti-inflammatories. Store in a cool, dry place.
