Ontel AM 80/5mg is a prescription combination tablet for high blood pressure, containing telmisartan and amlodipine. Telmisartan (an ARB) relaxes and widens the blood vessels, while amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) further relaxes the artery walls. Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone. It is used for adults whose blood pressure is not well controlled on a single medicine, helping reduce the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems.

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Ontel AM is usually taken once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not stop taking it without medical advice, even if you feel well, as ongoing control of blood pressure is important.

Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, heart problems or low blood pressure. May cause dizziness (especially when standing up), ankle swelling, flushing or headache.
