Overview

Otrivin Adult Nasal Drops 0.1% relieve a blocked, stuffy nose using xylometazoline, a fast-acting decongestant. The drops work within minutes by narrowing the swollen blood vessels in the nasal lining, opening up the airways so you can breathe more freely. They are useful for nasal congestion caused by colds, flu, sinusitis and hay fever or other allergies. This adult-strength formulation offers targeted, drop-by-drop relief and is a trusted choice for adults and children over 12 needing short-term help with a congested nose.

Active ingredient: Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1% (1 mg/ml).

Directions for Use

Blow your nose gently before use. Tilt your head back, place the recommended number of drops (usually 2-3 drops) into each nostril, then tilt the head forward briefly to spread the drops. Use up to three times a day as needed. Do not use for more than 7 days in a row, as longer use can cause rebound congestion. Wipe the dropper clean after use and do not share with others to avoid spreading infection.

Do not use for longer than 7 consecutive days, as overuse can worsen congestion (rebound effect). Not for children under 12 years (use the appropriate paediatric strength). Use with caution if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes or glaucoma, or take antidepressants such as MAOIs. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. May cause temporary stinging, dryness or sneezing. Store below 25C and use within the period stated after opening.
