Ranferon-12 Syrup 200ml is a haematinic (blood-building) tonic combining iron with folic acid, vitamin B12 and supporting B vitamins, used to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia. One of Kenya's most common nutritional conditions, especially among women and children. Iron rebuilds haemoglobin so blood can carry oxygen properly, easing tiredness, weakness, dizziness and poor concentration, while folic acid and B12 support healthy red blood cell production. The pleasant-tasting syrup format suits children and adults who struggle with iron tablets. Confirm the exact composition on the packaging.

Directions for Use
Take the dose stated on the packaging or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Typically once or twice daily, measured with the cup or spoon provided. Iron is best absorbed on an empty stomach, but take it with food if it upsets your stomach. Avoid taking within 2 hours of tea, coffee, milk or antacids, which reduce iron absorption. Continue for the period advised. Rebuilding iron stores usually takes about 3 months after blood counts recover.
Iron overdose is dangerous, especially for children. Store strictly out of reach; seek emergency care if a child drinks the syrup. May darken stools (harmless) and can cause nausea or constipation. People with iron-overload conditions (haemochromatosis), or anaemia not caused by iron deficiency, should not take iron except on medical advice. Persistent anaemia needs investigation. Iron interacts with some antibiotics and thyroid medicines. Separate doses by 2 hours. Confirm composition on packaging. Store below 30°C.
