Mirena from Bayer is a hormonal intrauterine system (IUS). A small, T-shaped device fitted inside the womb by a trained healthcare provider. That provides long-acting, reversible contraception for up to several years. It slowly releases the hormone levonorgestrel directly into the womb, thickening cervical mucus and thinning the womb lining to prevent pregnancy very effectively.
